There was plenty of hype surrounding New Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson after the latter was purchased by the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise for a staggering fee of INR 15 crore at the IPL 2021 mega auction in Bengaluru.

However, as it turned out, he failed to justify his price tag as he took nine wickets in nine games in the IPL 2021 season. He also opted out of the IPL 2022 season. Moreover, he had an expensive economy of 9.60 in his first season. As a result, RCB team management decided to release him ahead of the IPL 2023 mini-auction.

The New Zealand international underwent a massive pay cut in his salary as he was acquired by Chennai Super Kings for his base price of INR 1 crore. Jamieson will be looking forward to doing well for the four-time IPL champions next season.
