The new entrants Gujarat Titans stunned everyone by winning the IPL championship at their first attempt. Despite the obvious shortcomings in their squad, they kept producing a new hero every game to maintain their winning run.

All-rounder Hardik Pandya ran the team beautifully and also took the added responsibility of batting on his shoulders. However, there are many areas the defending champions need to sort out ahead of the new season.

Gujarat Titans have traded Lockie Ferguson and Rahmanullah Gurbaz to Kolkata Knight Riders, while they have released the likes of Jason Roy and Dominic Drakes.

At the moment, they have a purse of INR 19.25 crore remaining and have to fill only seven slots, including three overseas slots. If we talk about their playing XI, they ideally need a top-order batter, an all-rounder, an overseas back-up pacer, and an Indian back-up pacer. Hence, in this post, we will take a look at the top 3 players Gujarat Titans (GT) can target in the mini-auction.

    3. Daniel Sams

Daniel Sams played for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League 2022. The left-arm pace bowling all-rounder did a decent job as he bagged 13 wickets in 11 matches at a strike rate of 19.3. Despite that, Mumbai Indians released the Aussie ahead of the IPL 2023.

Gujarat Titans are a little light in the pace attack after trading Lockie Ferguson. While they have Alzarri Joseph as the replacement for the Kiwis, there is none as a back-up. Furthermore, Yash Dayal is the only left-arm seamer in the squad.

Daniel Sams’ addition will bring a lot of value to the Titans as he is also a handy lower-order batter. Furthermore, his variations with the ball will bring some variety to their pace attack.
