IPL 2022: Umran Malik Clocks 157 Kph against Delhi Capitals, bowls the fastest delivery of the season
In the IPL 2022, no other player than Umran Malik has gained more limelight. The young pacer from Jammu & Kashmir has become an overnight sensation courtesy of his rocket pace. Malik can clock over 150 kph regularly, and he has also been learning to control that rapid pace under the able guidance of legendary pacer Dale Steyn.
In the game between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals on Thursday night, Umran Malik created broke the speedometer. The Jammu Express delivered a 157 kph bullet to register the fastest delivery of the IPL 2022.

Malik had an off-game against Delhi Capitals as the Aussie opener David Warner and West Indian Rovman Powell took the bowler to the cleaners. However, it didn’t stop the youngster from smashing his own record of the fastest delivery of the ongoing season.
Umran Malik came to bowl the final over of the Delhi Capitals innings, and Rovman Powell was batting alongside David Warner.
Powell sent Malik’s first delivery for a maximum, followed by a dot and a boundary, respectively. After getting some beating, Umran Malik steamed in and delivered a 157 kph to bowl the fastest delivery of the season. However, it didn’t affect Rovman Powell as he smashed the full-length delivery for another boundary.

It was a disappointing day in the office for Umran Malik as the youngster was too expensive at night. It was a reality check for him as well as he needs to learn to control the line and lengths with his pace. Malik finished his spell without getting any success in four overs, spending 52 runs in the process.
Meanwhile, chasing a target of 208 runs, Sunrisers Hyderabad succumbed to a 21-run defeat. They now have lost three consecutive matches to slip to the sixth position in the points tally.
