IPL 2022: Match 59 – Predicted Chennai Super Kings Playing XI vs Mumbai Indians
Chennai Super Kings are all set to lock horns with Mumbai Indians in the ‘el-clasico’ of the IPL on Thursday evening as both teams meet in the 59th game of the mega-event. Mumbai Indians have already been crashed out of the competition and they will be playing for their pride. Meanwhile, CSK still have an outside chance to qualify for the playoffs.
The Super Kings will be without the services of their star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who has been ruled out of the tournament with an injury. Many changes are not expected from Chennai Super Kings as the defending champions registered a convincing 91-run win over Delhi Capitals in the previous fixture.
Let’s take a look at the predicted playing XI of the Chennai Super Kings for the match 59 of the IPL 2022
Openers – Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway
Devon Conway’s introduction at the top has changed the fortunes of the Yellow Army. The Kiwi batter scored 87 runs in the last game against Delhi Capitals and he is likely to retain his place.
Ruturaj Gaikwad has slowly got his touch back as the tournament has progressed. The youngster has played second-fiddle to Conway but he has stitched crucial partnerships at the top.
Middle Order- Moeen Ali, Shivam Dube, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni, and Robin Uthappa
Shivam Dube came to bat at the number three against Delhi Capitals and played a useful cameo of 32 runs off 19 deliveries. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni is doing what he does best – finishing games.
Chennai Super Kings have a formidable middle-order with no specific slot for any batter. They could stay flexible as per the game’s demand. MS Dhoni has also given more responsibility to Moeen Ali with the ball.
Bowlers: Dwayne Bravo, Maheesh Theekshana, Simarjeet Singh, and Mukesh Choudhary
Mukesh Choudhary has been CSK’s best pacer with the new ball in the powerplay as the left-arm pacer has accounted for 13 wickets in 10 games this season. He now has got some support from Simarjeet Singh who had a top game against Delhi Capitals with two wickets in the account.
Dwayne Bravo will handle his usual death bowling duties, while Maheesh Theekshana will lead the spin bowling department for Chennai Super Kings.
