IPL 2022: Ben Stokes praises ‘Baby AB’ Dewald Brevis, apologizes later
If Mumbai Indians have to pick one positive out of an otherwise dismal IPL 2022 season, they will choose the emergence of the youngster Dewald Brevis. The South African U19 star has made the world sit and take a notice of his talent with his incredible performances so far.
Brevis has proved that he belongs to the biggest stage. He has showcased to the world that he is nicknamed ‘Baby AB‘ for a reason. Dewald Brevis once again was on fire against Lucknow Super Giants as the youngster went on a boundary-hitting spree.
The young protea batter blasted his way to 31 runs off only 13 deliveries, including six boundaries and one beautiful no-look six off Dushmantha Chameera. Dewald Brevis threatened to quickly take the game away for Lucknow Super Giants before Avesh Khan got him out.
Such has been the form of the youngster; even Ben Stokes found himself in awe of the South African.

On Saturday, the English all-rounder Ben Stokes tweeted praising Dewald Brevis during his knock against LSG. Stokes tweeted just after the young batter smashed Sri Lankan pacer Chameera for a no-look six. He posted a tweet saying, “Brevis = Player.”

However, Brevis failed to continue for long and got out in the final over of the powerplay off Avesh Khan.
Ben Stokes soon posted another tweet apologizing to the youngster, implying his tweet had jinxed it for Dewald Brevis.
