The batting prowess of Dewald Brevis was on full display in the game between Mumbai Kings and Punjab Kings. The young South African star told the world why he is rated so high in the cricketing circles, justifying his nickname ‘Baby AB.’
The right-handed teenage batting sensation displayed his 360-degree hitting ability and went on a six-hitting spree against Punjab Kings. Dewald Brevis smashed Punjab Kings’ leg spinner Rahul Chahar for four consecutive sixes to make it Chahar’s most expensive over in the IPL career.
However, the youngster failed to become the youngest overseas player to score fifty in the IPL after getting out for a score of 49. Dewald Brevis came to the crease after the dismissal of the skipper Rohit Sharma. The teenager took his time to get his eyes in but soon unleashed his beast mode.
Dewald Brevis goes berserk, smashed a 112-meter maximum
In the 9th over of the Mumbai Indians innings, Dewald Brevis decided to press the accelerator. His partner Tilak Verma faced the first delivery of Rahul Chahar’s over and gave the strike to Brevis with a single. Baby AB scored a four straight down the ground on the 2nd delivery of the over. What happened next was mayhem as Dewald Brevis went berserk and smashed Rahul Chahar for four consecutive sixes. The madness also included a 112-meter six, the longest of the current edition.

Mumbai Indians are in the deepwater, need a miracle to save the season
Mumbai Indians succumbed to their fifth defeat in five games this season. The five-time champions will now need a miracle from here to qualify for the playoffs. They must win 8 of the remaining nine fixtures to qualify for the next stage. While it is not mathematically impossible, it would be more than difficult to accomplish it given the increased competition this season.
