IPL 2021: MS Dhoni utters a swear word after being dismissed by Ravi Bishnoi

MS Dhoni has failed miserably to contribute with bat in this season.

MS Dhoni has long been criticized for his poor batting form. His last international appearance came against New Zealand in the 2019 ODI World Cup semi-final. Since then he has been applying his skills in the IPL.

Although he hasn’t lived up to his reputation as a batsman, he is still the best cricketing brain in the modern era. Under his captaincy, CSK finished 7th in the IPL 2020 points table in the last season.

However, CSK corrected their mistakes and approached the ongoing season with a fresh perspective. The three-time IPL champions became the first team to qualify for the playoffs this season.

Meanwhile, there is literally one thing that keeps bothering CSK fans and that is Dhoni’s poor form. Having played 14 games this season, MS Dhoni scored just 96 runs at a poor batting average of 13.71. The fact that he didn’t score a fifty in the last and the current season sums up Dhoni’s form.

MS Dhoni’s team locked horns with Punjab Kings in the recently-concluded encounter in Dubai. Punjab Kings won the toss and elected to bowl first. CSK managed to post 134/6 in their quota of 20 overs. Faf du Plessis top-scored with 76 off 55 balls including 8 fours and 2 sixes.

During the last ball of the 12th over bowled by Bishnoi, MS Dhoni was taken aback by the delivery. Bishnoi bowled a googly and as it turned out, the ball took an inside edge before crashing onto the stumps.

MS Dhoni ended up playing more deliveries as he scored 12 off 15 balls at a strike rate of 95.04. Soon after his dismissal, Dhoni instantly lost his cool so much that he even uttered a cuss word. The video clip has gone viral on the internet.

Chennai Super Kings managed to post 134/6 in their quota of 20 overs. Arshdeep Singh and Chris Jordan took 2 wickets each while Mohammed Shami settled for a wicket. Punjab Kings were literally in a hurry to finish the game pretty quickly.

Punjab Kings won the game by six wickets in 13 overs. KL Rahul slammed an unbeaten 98 off 42 balls including 7 fours and 8 hits over the fence. He was named the Player of the Match.
