IPL 2021: Virat Kohli takes a dig at Punjab Kings after his team’s win in Sharjah

Virat Kohli hilariously mocked Punjab Kings' past tweet on RCB.

India and Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli is known for his sheer hostility as much as he is for his batting potential. Earlier, RCB got the better of PBKS by 6 runs in Sharjah. As a result, they secured a spot in the playoffs.

Virat Kohli was pretty quick to take a swipe at Punjab Kings in the dressing room after the game. During the first leg meeting between the two teams, Punjab Kings came through with flying colours. PBKS posted 179/5 in their quota of 20 overs.

KL Rahul-led team restricted RCB to 145/8 in 20 overs. PBKS won the game by a margin of 34 runs. Soon after the game, PBKS official Twitter handle tweeted a banter post against RCB. PBKS posted a hilarious caption along with an image of the RCB dugout.

“Yahan pe sab shanti shanti hai (everything is very peaceful here)!” the caption read. The caption went viral in no time and later, PBKS took down the tweet. In the second leg of the IPL, RCB locked horns with PBKS in Sharjah.

Meanwhile, RCB avenged the previous defeat from PBKS by 6 runs. RCB posted a video of their dressing room chat after the game. Ahead of the team talk, Virat Kohli can be heard saying “Bohot shanti hai aaj (It’s very peaceful today)”.

RCB Twitter handle shared the video where the players look very much thrilled after securing a spot in the playoffs for the consecutive time. RCB captain Virat Kohli couldn’t have asked for a better performance from his peers after his team qualified for the playoffs.

Speaking at the post-match presentation, Virat Kohli said: “(It) feels amazing. After 2011, we haven’t done it with games to spare. Eight wins out of 12 games is a great campaign. We have two more opportunities to finish in the top two. Should give us the motivation to play even more fearlessly.”
