Bhuvneshwar Kumar made the new ball to talk in the five-match series and got closer to his usual best. The swing bowler 6 wickets in 4 innings at a brilliant economy rate of 6.07 despite bowling the difficult overs in the powerplay.

Harshal Patel finished the series as the highest wicket-taker with 7 wickets in 4 innings. The right-arm death specialist had an economy rate of 7.23 across four games and a strike rate of 10.4.

The Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, despite having two bad games, managed to find a place in the IND vs SA combined XI. Yuzi accounted for 6 wickets in 4 innings at a strike rate of 14.1

Lungi Ngidi found a place in the South African playing XI in the 4th T20I, where he bagged two wickets. He delivered only 1.3 overs in the fifth game before the rain interrupted and sent back both openers. The right-arm pacer finished the series with 4 wickets at a strike rate of 6.7.
