IND vs ENG 2024: Team India’s predicted XI for fifth Test against England
Team India are looking for the fourth-straight win over England in Tests.
When England drew the first blood in the Test opener, Team India went back to the drawing board and then devised a strategy to outwit the Three Lions in the next three games, churning out three wins in a row to win the Test series by 3-1.
The hosts already got their job done so far in the series and will be willing to extend their dominance over the visitors in the fifth Test. The final game will get underway on March 7 (Thursday) at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala.
Let’s now take a look at the playing XI that the hosts can field against England in the Dharamshala Test.
Openers: Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal
Indian captain Rohit Sharma’s form took a big hit in the ongoing Test series against England. He neither played well against spin nor managed to outsmart the pace in the home conditions as he fell prey to cheap scores.
Nevertheless, he somehow managed to find some form in the fourth Test where he scored a fifty in the run-chase. He is the fifth leading run-scorer in the series with 297 runs under his belt. On the contrary, Yashasvi Jaiswal has been in stellar form in the Test series.
The youngster brought the best out of himself by scoring two double centuries and is currently the leading run-getter in the series so far. He scored 655 runs at an average of 93.57 including two double centuries and two fifties.
