Shardul Thakur is expected to continue in the playing XI ahead of Mohammed Shami. One major factor behind this call is Shardul’s ability to bat and score crucial runs. But one shouldn’t forget that he can also provide vital breakthroughs in the middle overs.

The new No.1 ranked ICC ODI bowler, Mohammed Siraj, will be seen back in action in the first ODI. He ran riots against Sri Lanka in the final of the continental cup by picking up six wickets. He would like to retain his red-hot form against the Aussies.

Without any surprise, Jasprit Bumrah will be leading the pace attack for the Men in Blue. He has been maintaining a fine form ever since his return. It will be a good test for him against the quality batting of the Baggy Greens.
