IND vs AUS 2023: India’s probable XI for the first ODI against Australia

After lifting the Asia Cup 2023, Team India is all set to host Australia for a three-match ODI series. It will be their last assignment before the mega-event next month. Hence, the series will be closely monitored by the mangement to ensure they have ticked all the boxes.

Surprisingly, the Men in Blue have given a rest to some of their star players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. They will return for the third and final ODI of the series. In their absence, the young talents will be taking the charge to lead the ship.

Without any ado, let’s take a look at the strongest predicted XI that India can field against Australia in the first game:

Openers: Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan

In-form batter Shubman Gill will be seen opening the innings for team India. He finished as the highest run-scorer in the recently concluded Asia Cup. He smashed 303 runs in just six innings, including a fighting century against Bangladesh.

The right-handed batter would like to carry on the momentum against Australia. On the other flip, Ishan Kishan is likely to be given the opening duty in the absence of regular opener Rohit Sharma.

Kishan showed a glimpse of great form against Pakistan but has faded away since then. With the big event approaching, he would definitely be eager to get back into the scoring form.
