The all-rounder was named as the vice-captain in the T20I series against the Proteas. It indicated that he remains a valuable part of the leadership group and can lead the team if required.

Though Jadeja hasn’t led the national side even once, his domestic experience will come in handy. Since he has also played under MS Dhoni for many years, he must have developed the skills required to lead a side.
