Chennai Super Kings led by MS Dhoni are one of the phenomenal forces to be reckoned with in the history of the Indian Premier League. They are the only team in the history of the IPL to have made it to the playoffs a record eleven times in their 13 participating campaigns. Notably, they have made it to the finals nine times, which is the most by any team.
CSK won their first IPL trophy by getting the better of Mumbai Indians. The yellow army won the second title by beating Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL 2011 final and successfully defended the title. Under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya and under the guidance of Ashish Nehra (as head coach), Gujarat Titans took everyone by surprise with their ambitious approach. Gujarat Titans found solution to all the woes in their campaign.
As a result, they were able to figure out a way to come out on top on most occasions in the IPL. Hardik Pandya and Co qualified for the playoffs by finishing first on the IPL 2022 points table. Having played 14 games, they won 10 games and lost the remaining four games in the league stage. They defeated Rajasthan Royals in the final to win their maiden IPL title in their debut season.

Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans have locked horns with each other on three occasions in the history of the IPL. Gujarat Titans have dominated the yellow army three times in a row. On the other hand, CSK are yet to open an account against them.
