Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen made the headlines recently when he congratulated Team India on their historic 2-1 Test series win over Australia. This is India’s second consecutive Test series win in Australian soil. Pietersen took to his official Twitter handle to praise Team India but at the same time, he warned Team India that the real challenge will be facing England at home.

India and England locked horns with each other in the first Test match at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. England started their tour with a bang as they won the first Test by a massive margin of 227 runs. Joe Root was named the man of the match for his mesmerizing 218 and 40 in the first and second innings.

To this, Australian journalist Chloe-Amanda Bailey took a swipe at the former England cricketer with an epic tweet. Australian journalist asked Kevin Pietersen to not make a decision early as Team India could make a strong comeback just as they did in Australia.

Meanwhile, India haven’t announced their arrival yet at home. The race to ICC World Test Championship final is getting tougher as only one spot is left. Earlier, New Zealand qualified for the final. England’s chances of qualifying for the final has improved after their win over India in Chennai.

However, Team India aren’t out of the race yet. India’s defeat to England made their route a bit tricky. Team India need 70 points to go past Australia’s points percentage. Since this is a four-match Test series, each victory is worth 30 points. This means India need at least 2 wins and a draw (10 points) from the three Tests.

If suppose, they lose any of the next three games, their qualification hopes would be done and dusted. The second Test match will see 50% crowd in Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. The second Test is scheduled to be held on February 13, Saturday.
