AB de Villiers offers to return to BBL if guaranteed his wish
Former South Africa batsman AB de Villiers has vouched to return to the Big Bash League (BBL) after a gap of two years if his wish is fulfilled.
Incidentally, Sydney Sixers are struggling to field 11 fit player amid the COVID-19 scare that has put a couple of first choice cricketers out of contention for the final. They were forced to play their assistant coach Jay Lenton in their last game against Adelaide Strikers where they pulled off an emphatic victory to secure a final berth.
Ahead of the summit clash against Perth Scorchers, Daniel Christian put out a tweet asking cricketers to join their side for the final showdown. Taking to Twitter, the veteran all-rounder wrote:
“Shout out to anyone* in Melbourne that wants a game of cricket tomorrow night. My team is struggling to get 11 covid free, fit players on the park. Warm up starts at 6.30pm at Marvel Stadium. Free beer afterwards, potentially out of a large cup. DM if keen *no test cricketers.”

The tweet attracted a lot of attention from the fans all over the globe, including AB de Villiers and Jofra Archer. De Villiers came up with a quick response to his former Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate. He wrote:
“I’m keen if u can guarantee me my 4 overs?”

England pacer Jofra Archer, who returned to training after a long injury haul also made a funny comment. He wrote, “Do I have to pay subs?”

Cricket Australia denies Sydney Sixers’ request to play Steve Smith
Sixers’ bid to play Steve Smith has already been denied by the organising body. Incidentally, he wasn’t in the pool of replacement players and was denied permission to play in recent matches after the series against New Zealand got postponed.
The mega final of BBL 2021-22 is scheduled on January 28 at the Docklands Stadium in Melbourne.
