IPL 2022: Deepak Chahar likely to join CSK on April 25 – Reports
Defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have been massively hit by the absence of ace all-rounder Deepak Chahar. They have had the worst start to their campaign, losing the first two matches of the season.
The absence of Chahar has hurt the balance of the squad and the Chennai management is keen to have the cricketer in Mumbai as early as possible. If reports are to be believed as true, Deepak Chahar might be available for selection post-April 25.
Incidentally, the India international suffered a right quadriceps injury during the 3rd T20I against West Indies at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. He was later ruled out of the limited-overs leg of the Sri Lanka series. Since then, he has been undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.
A recent report in the Times of India has suggested that Deepak Chahar is recovering well and has started bowling in the nets. He is expected to get a clearance from the NCA within two weeks after which he will join the CSK squad.

Chahar also recently shared a short clip of him bowling in the nets under the supervision of the NCA coaches to update the fans on his recovery. The cricketer from Rajasthan didn’t look in discomfort and if things go as expected, he will be available in the last week of April.
Incidentally, CSK roped him in for ₹14 crore at the IPL 2022 mega auction in February after releasing him in the initial retention list. He has been one of their integral members in the last couple of seasons and played a massive role in CSK’s title-winning campaigns in 2018 and 2021.
