Harsha Bhogle urges Waqar Younis to issue swift apology over ‘Mohammad Rizwan offering Namaz’ comment

They won the game by 10 wickets with ease. However, after the game, the cricket fraternity witnessed so many negative things on social media.
Several users abused Indian pacer Mohammed Shami for his shambolic performance. Apart from that, there was something else that caught everyone’s attention. Former Pakistani pacer Waqar Younis triggered massive outrage on social media with his recent comments about Pakistan’s victory over Team India at the ICC T20 World Cup.
Meanwhile, Harsha Bhogle, the ‘Voice of Indian cricket’ is expecting a quick apology from the former pacer. The iconic sports presenter had opined that cricketers and experts should unit the cricket rather than splitting it by religion.

Mohammad Rizwan was the standout performer for Pakistan in the run-chase. He scored an unbeaten 79 off 55 balls including 6 fours and 3 sixes. The wicketkeeper-batsman had offered Namaz during the drinks break in Dubai. When the video clip of the same went viral, Waqar Younis called it the ‘most satisfying’ moment about the India-Pakistan encounter.

In a conversation with Shoaib Akhtar and Pakistani journalist, the former pacer told Arya News: “Rizwan offered Namaz during the match in the middle of Hindus was very special for me.” Meanwhile, Harsha Bhogle took to his official Twitter handle and came up with his honest opinion on Waqar Younis’ remarks.
“For a person of Waqar Younis’ stature to say that watching Rizwan offering namaz in front of Hindus was very special to him, is one of the most disappointing things I have heard. A lot of us try hard to play such things down and talk up sport and to hear this is terrible,” Bhogle opined.

“You would think that cricketers, as ambassadors of our game, would be a little more responsible. I am sure there will be an apology on the way from Waqar. We need to unite the cricket world, not divide it by religion,” Bhogle added.
