The second Test match between England and India kick-started with a bang at The Mecca of Cricket. England won the toss and opted to bowl first. On the other hand, Virat Kohli also wanted to bowl first. Despite losing the toss, the visitors batted so well as they took the attack to the cleaners.

England’s veteran pacer bowled a gem of an in-ducker to get rid of Rohit Sharma. The 34-year-old departed after scoring 83 runs to his name. He struck as many as 11 fours and a six. Meanwhile, Anderson also got rid of Cheteshwar Pujara with a stunning delivery.
Indian captain Virat Kohli who hasn’t been in good form of late hunkered himself at the crease. He and KL Rahul ensured to put a 117-run stand for the fourth wicket. While Kohli was batting on 42, Ollie Robinson bowled a superb delivery that saw Kohli get a thick inside edge. Joe Root took a good catch at the slip.

Meanwhile, there was a slight misunderstanding between the duo. The fielders backed out to avoid any collision. They felt that the other one would put in a dive to stop the ball from the boundary. While both of them backed out, all of a sudden, both dived at the same time.
While Hameed’s dive was way from where the ball was headling, Sibley somehow managed to prevent the ball from reaching the boundary. Team India finished Day 1 with 276/3 (90 overs). KL Rahul and Ajinkya Rahane are batting on 127* and 1* respectively.
