Royal Challengers Bangalore broke the bank in search of their next opener as they signed Anuj Rawat for INR 3.4 crore in the auction for IPL 2022. The franchise entrusted the youngster to open the batting alongside Faf du Plessis.
RCB gave Anuj Rawat a long rope as he played 8 matches for the franchise. However, the left-handed batter failed to deliver as could only score 129 runs in 8 matches at an average of 16.12 and a strike rate of below 110.
Royal Challengers Bangalore could release Anuj Rawat ahead of the new season as Finn Allen is likely to open the batting in IPL 2023. Releasing the batter will add a major amount to their purse that can be utilized to add major reinforcements to their squad.
