The Maharashtra-born cricketer was one of the brightest stars for CSK in the IPL 2020 season. At a time when CSK were reeling under pressure in that season, Gaikwad provided a great deal of assistance in the fag end of the season.
Ruturaj Gaikwad scored a hat-trick of fifties in the last three games of IPL 2020. His candid knocks helped CSK win the last three games and CSK somehow managed to escape a bottom-place finish. Gaikwad upped his game to a great extent in IPL 2021 season.
He ended up as the leading run-scorer of the tournament and deservedly won the Orange cap. The 24-year-old scored 635 runs at an average of 45.35 including 1 century and 4 fifties. There is absolutely no doubt in seeing Gaikwad in the yellow outfit in the next season.
