3 players Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) might trade ahead of IPL 2023
RCB merely managed to qualify for playoffs in IPL 2022.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) had a decent run in the Indian Premier League 2022 as they qualified for the playoffs after finishing 4th in the points table with 8 wins and 6 losses after 14 matches. The Faf du Plessis-led side reached the Eliminator where they defeated Lucknow Super Giants to reach the 2nd Qualifier.
However, the Bangalore-based franchise lost to Rajasthan Royals in the 2nd Qualifier as their dream of reaching the final came down crashing. With the new season approaching, the Royal Challengers will look to fill the gap in their squad to have another go at the Indian Premier League championship.
With the auction for IPL 2023 coming up, the trade window will open where franchises can trade their players. Hence, in this post, we will take a look at 3 players RCB might trade ahead of IPL 2023.
3. Siddharth Kaul
To have a reliable Indian pace bowling option, Royal Challengers Bangalore shelled out INR 75 lakh to sign Punjab pacer Siddharth Kaul. He has good variations in the form of slower, knuckle ball and an inch-perfect yorker.
It was a shrewd buy for RCB as they had someone experienced in their dugout as a backup. However, Siddharth Kaul kept warming the bench throughout the season. He failed to emulate his previous success after giving away 43 runs for no wickets in the single game he played in the IPL 2022.
The right-handed pacer hasn’t performed at the top level in the past year in domestic cricket. It will be tough to see him get any game-time in IPL 2023 for RCB. Hence, it won’t be a surprise if the Bangalore-based franchise trades the pacer in the upcoming trading window.
