WATCH: Yuzvendra Chahal takes a wicket after an argument with on-field umpire
Rajasthan Royals’ leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal put on a good show with the ball during the recently-concluded game against Lucknow Super Giants at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The leg-spinner accounted for four dismissals in his full quota of 4 overs and was named the Man of the Match for his performance.
During the game, he hogged the limelight after he had an argument with on-field umpire. The incident took place during the fourth ball of the 18th over when LSG were at 125/7. Lucknow Super Giants were trying their maximum best to chase down 166. At that position, they required 41 off 25 balls.
When Dushmantha Chameera was on strike, Chahal bowled a short-pitched ball a tad outside off stump. Meanwhile, the umpire immediately called that wide. The leg-spinner was literally taken aback the umpire’s call and so was Sanju Samson who looked at the umpire in disbelief.

On the next delivery, Chahal bowled a superb delivery and to which Dushmantha Chameera was beaten all ends up. The ball went on to hit the batter’s back pad in front of middle stump. Chahal was pretty much confident as he made a loud appeal. However, the umpire was not interested.

Meanwhile, RR captain Sanju Samson went straight to upstairs in the first place. The replay showed the ball clearly hitting the bottom of the middle stump and hence the umpire had to raise his finger.
RR posted 165/6 in 20 overs. Shimron Hetmyer scored 59 off 36 with the help of 1 four and 6 sixes. In reply, KL Rahul led-LSG came close but lost the game by a whisker of 3 runs.
