Royal Challengers Bangalore have come out determined to give it their all to win the Eliminator and play the 2nd Qualifier of the IPL 2022. In the Eliminator against Lucknow Super Giants, the Sri Lankan leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga produced a moment of magic in the field to prevent the ball to go away for a maximum.

On Wednesday, Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore are locking horns in the clutch encounter on the Eden Gardens. The winner of this game will advance to the 2nd Qualifier, while the loser will go home.

LSG’s skipper KL Rahul won the toss and invited Faf du Plessis & co. to bat first. The skipper returned for the golden duck but the youngster Rajat Patidar took the center stage. He came out with attacking intent and went berserk from the very beginning.

Patidar scored runs all around the park while the likes of Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, and Mahipal Lomror failed on the big night. However, Rajat Patidar got support from the veteran wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik in the end as the duo added an unbeaten 92 runs off 41 deliveries to take RCB to a massive total of 207/4 in 20 overs.

Chasing the total, Lucknow Super Giants were dealt with a body blow as Mohammad Siraj removed Quinton de Kock in the very first over. Manan Vohra showed some sparks but could not play a big knock.

KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda built the innings to stay alive in the big chase. In the 10th over of the chase, Hasaranga saved five runs on the boundary. Deepak Hooda, Harshal Patel straight and the bowl looked to travel for a maximum. However, Hasaranga came in running to his right and grabbed the catch. When it looked like he will slide into the cushion, the leggie flicked the ball inside the boundary.
