Pakistan leg-spinner Shadab Khan won hearts during the second ODI game between Pakistan and West Indies with his heartwarming gesture on the field. During Pakistan’s innings, a fan invaded the pitch to meet his favorite superstar Shadab Khan and the leggie didn’t disappoint him and hugged him to send a beautiful message.

West Indies are currently touring Pakistan for a rescheduled three-match ODI series. The home side began the series with a bang by winning the first ODI by 5 wickets, while they sealed the series by winning the 2nd game by 120 runs.

On Friday, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. They were on the course of a massive total as the skipper Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq stitched a beautiful partnership for the 2nd wicket. However, once they both were gone, the hosts were pegged back with wickets at the regular interval and they could only manage 275/8 in 50 overs.

During the 39th over of Pakistan‘s innings, Anderson Phillip ran in his bowling stride to deliver the 4th delivery of the over. However, his runup was halted as a spectator invaded the pitch. He came running towards Shadab Khan and saluted him subsequently.

Following the incident, the Pakistan all-rounder Shadab responded with a hug to the fan and the crowd acknowledged the beautiful gesture and a huge roar erupted.

Former West Indies cricketer Ian Bishop also acknowledged Khan’s gesture and appreciated him with a tweet.

“Great moment just now when a spectator ran onto the field. Instead of being violent with him (because it could have been dangerous, plus COVID), Shadab Khan hugged him and sent him on his way. #Beautiful. P: S, I understand all the reasons why that is frowned upon,” Ian Bishop tweeted.

Meanwhile, West Indies could only manage 155 runs in reply and surrendered a 120 runs defeat. Shadab Khan had a decent game as he scored 22 vital runs off 23 deliveries while batting first and also clinched two wickets with the ball.
