Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma hasn’t been up to his imperious best in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. The 34-year-old stalwart has been struggling with his form.

The opposition bowlers have literally found a perfect game plan to dismiss him early on in the game. Apart from him, even Virat Kohli is on the same page as that of Rohit Sharma. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma-led MI locked horns with Shreyas Iyer-led KKR in tonight’s encounter.

MI captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl first at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai. KKR posted 165/9 in their quota of 20 overs. Nitish Rana and Venkatesh Iyer scored 43 apiece. On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers for MI as he took a five-wicket haul.

Meanwhile, the five-time IPL champions got off to a terrible start in the run-chase against KKR. Mumbai Indians lost their skipper for just 2 runs in the opening over. Rohit Sharma who has the best batting average against KKR failed to bring the best out of himself this time.

It all happened when Tim Southee pitched in with a short of length delivery to Rohit Sharma. The ball flew off Rohit’s thigh pad before it went to Sheldon Jackson’s gloves. Meanwhile, KKR took a review as Sheldon was pretty much confident of the fact that it was nicked behind.

Nevertheless, the TV replay showed there were countless spikes already before the ball came towards Rohit’s willow. Nonetheless, considering a huge spike when the white leather passed MI captain’s bat, the third umpire overturned the on-field call. Rohit made his way back to the dressing room after a cheap score.
