Team India eventually ended their title drought by beating South Africa in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 final. Despite being on the receiving end while defending the total, the Men in Blue, somehow found out a way to come out on top.

Rohit Sharma & Co. won the showdown by 7 runs, in what was one heck of a thrilling encounter at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown in Barbados. The fans got to witness one of the best-ever finals in T20 World Cup. India won their second T20 World Cup title ever since winning the inaugural edition.

1. Rohit Sharma

Indian captain Rohit Sharma ticked the boxes as a batsman and captain in the marquee event. He finished the tournament as the second leading run-getter with 257 runs at a strike rate of 156.70 and an average of 36.71. Rohit Sharma registered his best score of 92 against Australia in the Super 8. Under his captaincy, India defeated South Africa in the final to win the second T20 World Cup.

2. Quinton de Kock

South Africa’s opener Quinton de Kock finished the tournament as the fourth-leading run-getter with 243 runs in 9 games at an average of 27 and a strike rate of 140.46. Notably, he was also South Africa’s leading run-getter in the event. He was primarily responsible for scoring runs at a rate of knots.
