Trying to provide his team with a high-flying finish against Lucknow Super Giants, Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant pulled out an audacious mini-helicopter shot. Delhi Capitals took on Lucknow Super Giants in the 15th match of the IPL 2022.

The Super Giants’ skipper won the toss and elected to bowl first. Prithvi Shaw came out all guns blazing and blasted Lucknow’s bowlers all around the park. The capital-based franchise completed 50 runs without any loss in the powerplay, and the platform was set for a big score. However, Krishnappa Gowtham removed Shaw to provide his team with the first breakthrough.

Soon, Lucknow Super Giants’ spinners pulled things back in the middle and reduced Delhi Capitals to 74/3 in the 11th over. The skipper Rishabh Pant was joined by Sarafraz Khan in the middle. The duo had a big responsibility to rebuild and provide their team with a strong finish.

Both batters started cautiously but took charge in the 15th over. First, Rishabh Pant scored 18 runs off AJ Tye’s over, including two sixes. Later, the left-handed southpaw played a helicopter shot off Avesh Khan in the 19th over. It was a low full-toss from Avesh Khan, but Rishabh Pant jerked his body back in an exaggerated fashion and whipped the delivery wide of deep mid-wicket.

Lucknow Super Giants are searching for their 3rd win of the season

Despite his best efforts, Rishabh Pant failed to get off the blocks today and could only manage unbeaten 39 runs off 36 runs. Delhi Capitals could only post a total of 149/3 in 20 overs which LSG will try to hunt down.

LSG’s openers KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock have made a great start to the chase as the duo added 48 runs in the powerplay. Rishabh Pant will now hope his spinners could bring Delhi back in the game by picking up wickets in clusters.
