India’s young wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant is known for his ability to play marathon innings. No matter which format it is, Pant sticks to his own game. His fearless approach to the game has helped the Indian cricket team reap rewards.

Time and again, Rishabh Pant‘s counter-attacking ability has assisted the Indian cricket team to add runs on the board pretty quickly. This time too, Pant grew from strength in his batting approach as he had a terrific day at the office against Sri Lanka.

Pant who was rested for the T20I series against Sri Lanka made a tremendous impact on the field. The southpaw scored 96 off 97 deliveries before getting dismissed by Suranga Lakmal. Pant couldn’t believe himself after his mode of dismissal.

Rishabh Pant provided an absolute visual treat to the supporters who turned up in numbers to watch the game. The youngster combined the innings with caution and a fearless attitude by smacking as many as 9 boundaries and 4 maximums.

He scored runs at the rate of knots as he maintained a strike rate close to 100. Pant had a chance to score a wonderful century but fell short by just 4 runs. However, the fans, Indian players congratulated the batsman for putting on a great show on the first day.

During the fifth ball of the 77th over, Pant showcased his true colours by smashing a one-handed six off Dhananjaya de Silva. This isn’t the first time that Pant hit a one-handed six. In fact, he perfected the art of hitting sixes with one hand.

Sri Lanka managed to take six wickets of the Indian batting unit. However, the damage was already done by the Indian batters who steered the scoreboard to 357/6 at the end of Day 1. Ravindra Jadeja (45) and Ravichandran Ashwin (10) remain unbeaten at the crease.
