WATCH: Nitish Rana screams his lungs out after throwing his wicket away post a good start
Kolkata Knight Riders’ batter Nitish Rana made a fiery start to his innings against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The left-handed southpaw was looking in a mood to play a big knock to take the game away from the Orange Army but got out playing an irresponsible shot. Visibly, Nitish Rana was livid with himself after failing to convert his start and screamed his lungs out on his way back to the dugout.
On Saturday, Kolkata Knight Riders are facing Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 61st game of the IPL 2022 at the MCA Stadium, Pune. It is a must-win game for both sides as a loss here will seal KKR‘s exit from the tournament. Meanwhile, it would almost be curtains for SRH as well with a loss.
Kolkata Knight Riders’ skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bat first. The Men in Purple lost Venkatesh Iyer early but Ajinkya Rahane and Nitish Rana looked solid during their partnership for the 2nd wicket.
Nitish Rana falls after a promising start
Rana started his innings cautiously at the beginning as he opened his account on the 7th delivery with a four off T Natarajan. However, he took off from there, smashing three maximums inside the next eight deliveries. On the 16th delivery of his knock, Nitish Rana tried to work Umran Malik towards the leg side. The ball caught the leading edge and travelled to the deep square leg.
Rana was clearly distraught with the false shot after getting such a wonderful start. The left-handed batter could not hide his emotions and screamed his lungs out. Nitish Rana scored 26 runs off 16 deliveries before getting out.
