Mumbai batter Yashasvi Jaiswal shared a hilarious moment with his teammates and the opponents during the Ranji Trophy semifinal between Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh. While opening the batting for Mumbai in the 2nd innings of the semifinal, the left-handed southpaw got stuck and managed to open his account on the 54th delivery he faced. When he finally managed to score his first runs, his Mumbai teammates gave the batter thunderous applause from the dugout.
Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh are up against in the semifinal of the Ranji Trophy at the Just Cricket Academy Ground, Bengaluru. After scoring a brilliant hundred in the first innings to take his side to a decent total, Yashasvi Jaiswal dropped to an anchor’s role in the 2nd innings. The youngster failed to open his accounting during the opening wicket partnership of 66 runs alongside the skipper Prithvi Shaw, who scored 64 runs before getting out.
Yashasvi Jaiswal opens his account in the 22nd over
The Rajasthan Royals‘ opener is usually seen smashing the bowlers at the top. However, in the 2nd innings of the Ranji Trophy semifinal, Jaiswal opened his account with a four on his 54th delivery.
On the final delivery of the 22nd over of Mumbai’s innings, Yashasvi Jaiswal managed to tuck the pacer Ankit Rajput towards the leg side for a boundary. Following the shot, his Mumbai teammates could not hide their elation and cheered sarcastically from the dugout. In fact, the bowler Ankit Rajpoot could be seen clapping. However, Jaiswal was a good sport about it all and raised his bat towards the dressing room to acknowledge.

After scoring a hundred in the first innings, Jaiswal continued his rich form in the 2nd innings as well. He amassed 181 runs in the 2nd innings to bat Uttar Pradesh out of the game before getting out.
