WATCH: Kumar Kartikeya castles Ajinkya Rahane’s off-stump with a stunning delivery

However, at times, such moves could backfire instantly. During the recently-concluded game between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders, Ajinkya Rahane attempted to play a reverse sweep shot off Kumar Kartikeya’s bowling.

As it happened, the bowler got the better of the batter. Kartikeya just got his basics right and which is why he was able to dismiss Rahane. The experienced player made a complete misjudgment while trying to play a reverse sweep shot.

The incident took place during the second ball of the 11th over, Rahane decided to play a reverse sweep shot off Kumar Kartikeya. As Rahane failed to get a good connection of the ball completely, the ball went on to shatter Rahane’s off-stump.

Talking about the match, Kolkata Knight Riders posted a competitive total of 165/9 in their quota of 20 overs. Nitish Rana and Venkatesh Iyer scored 43 runs each. On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers for Mumbai Indians.

The world-class fast bowler accounted for 5 dismissals, giving away only 10 runs and also bowled a maiden over. However, in reply, Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians made a complete mess in the run-chase as they were skittled out for just 113.

Ishan Kishan top-scored with 51 off 43 balls including 5 fours and a six. Apart from him, no other batsman showcased the strength. Pat Cummins took 3 wickets to his name for KKR and the two-time IPL champions won the game by 52 runs.

Jasprit Bumrah was named the man of the match for his fantabulous bowling performance. Unfortunately, he ended up on the losing side. KKR will take on SRH on May 14 (Saturday) whereas MI will take on CSK on May 12 (Friday).
