During the 3rd ODI between England and the Netherlands, the wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler dispatched a two-bounce delivery from Paul van Meekeren for a maximum mercilessly. On Wednesday, two teams were up against each other in the 3rd and final game of the ODI series.

England have already sealed the series by winning the first two games. The skipper Jos Buttler won the toss on the day and invited the hosts to bat first. Max O’Dowd, Bas de Leede, and Scott Edwards completed their respective fifties for the Orange Army but they failed to convert it into a big knock.

Once they were gone, the Netherlands’ lower-order collapsed and England bundled them out for 244 in 49.2 overs. Chasing the total, the opening duo of Jason Roy and Philip Salt once again provided England with an explosive start.

Both openers added 85 runs off 9.4 overs for the first wicket before Philip Salt gets cleaned up by Paull van Meekeren and missed his half-century by a single run. Paul van Meekeren also removed Dawid Malan for a nought but then Jos Buttler and Jason Roy did nothing away to the Netherlands.

Paul van Meekeren came to bowl the 29th over of the English innings. On the 5th delivery, the pacer lost the grip of the ball as he delivered a no-ball that reached Buttler in two bounces.

The destructive batter showed no mercy in dealing with the loose ball by reaching it and tonking it over the square-leg boundary.

Jos Buttler deservingly also rewarded the ‘Player of the Series’ courtesy of his exploits with the bat in the three-match series. He finished the ODI series with 248 runs in 2 innings at a destructive strike rate of 185.07, without getting out even once.
