Team India’s fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is widely acknowledged as one of the best bowlers in the world. However, he couldn’t bring his skills to the forefront in the ICC World Test Championship Final against New Zealand at The Rose Bowl.
As a result, he came under fire for his display. India’s premier pacer learnt from his mistakes in the long gap in the UK. Finally, he came out as a totally different bowler altogether in overseas conditions. Bumrah did make his presence as a bowler in the first Test.
The paceman is a part of the ongoing five-match Test series. The first Test is being played at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. Bumrah was among the leading wicket-takers for India in the first innings. The Mumbai Indians’ star accounted for four dismissals.
Besides contributing with his customary bowling show, he went a step ahead to impress the fans. Yes, Bumrah went on to add some flesh to the scoreboard with the bat as well. Well, nobody really saw this coming from the bowler who initially never looked like scoring runs.
When Team India lost eight wickets, Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah played together and tackled England’s pace attack. However, it was Shami who scored took the responsibility to score runs. On the other hand, Bumrah decided to defend the balls and let his partner dictate the tempo.

England managed to clean up the top, middle and lower-order departments. However, India’s tailenders did frustrate the England bowlers by scoring runs. When Shami got out for 13 runs, Bumrah did the unthinkable as he took the cricket fraternity by surprise.
Bumrah who was only focused on defending the balls early on had started playing shots. This indeed surprised all of us. Not one but he struck three boundaries. His terrific six off Sam Curran’s bowling was just the icing on the cake.
It was just a perfect tonic for the fans who witnessed Bumrah’s cameo. (28 off 34 balls). Fans from all quarters praised Bumrah for helping India increase the lead. Team India stretched a pretty good lead of 95 runs. The visitors were all out for 278.
