Indian captain Virat Kohli has been struggling to score runs consistently. It’s been over two years since he scored a century against an opposition. His last international century came against Bangladesh in 2019.

Since then, he chipped in with several fifty-plus scores. However, that hasn’t helped much for him and the team. Being a player of his calibre, a lot was expected of him in the ongoing Test series. Kohli got out for a duck in the first innings of the first Test.

As far as the second Test is concerned, the 32-year-old skipper scored 42 in the first innings at the Lord’s Cricket Ground. He added a 117-run partnership with KL Rahul. However, he couldn’t contribute much in the second innings as he scored only 20.

After Virat Kohli’s departure, India found support in the form of Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane. The productive duo provided timely assistance with a 100-run partnership. But soon after that, Mark Wood got rid of Pujara with a stunning delivery.

On the other hand, Ajinkya Rahane scored a brilliant fifty and went on to score 61. Moeen Ali had other ideas to dismiss the set batsman. Team India ended Day 4 with 181/6. England paceman Ollie Robinson provided a terrific start by dismissing Pant and Ishant Sharma on the final day.

Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami provided a ray of hope by scoring runs smoothly. The duo kept on rotating the strike, converted 1’s into 2’s while also scoring boundaries during the passage of the play.

In the process, they went on to add the highest ninth-wicket partnership against England in Test cricket. During the overs, Jasprit Bumrah and Mark Wood engaged in a heated exchange of words that fired up Bumrah.

He smashed a four off Mark Wood in the first ball of the 93rd over. Meanwhile, the cameras were panned on to the Indian captain Virat Kohli. He couldn’t control his emotions as he got a little animated in the dressing room. The video of the same went viral in no time.
