Rajasthan Royals were up against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the clash of the Royals and 39th match of the IPL 2022 on Tuesday evening. While the fans witnessed a close battle between the ball and the bat, an ugly spat between Riyan Parag and Harshal Patel after the conclusion of the first innings took the limelight.
RCB’s skipper invited Rajasthan Royals to bat first after winning the toss. The Royal Challengers were in full flow with the ball as they pegged back the opposition with regular wickets. However, the youngster Riyan Parag had different ideas in his mind. The Assam-born cricketer fought till the end and compiled a well-deserving half-century.
Riyan Parag smashed unbeaten 56 runs off 31 deliveries, including three boundaries and four maximums. He single-handedly pushed Rajasthan Royals to a fighting total of 144/8 in 20 overs.
However, the youngster got involved in a verbal fight with the pacer Harshal Patel after the conclusion of the RR innings.
Harshal Patel and Riyan Parag get into an altercation
The death-over specialist bowled the last over for RCB, while Parag was looking to finish with some lusty blows. Riyan Parag put Harshal Patel to the sword in the final over, scoring 18 runs, including a boundary and two maximums.
The pacer wasn’t pleased with Parag on something and the duo got involved in a heated altercation while heading back to the dugout.

Parag’s late blitz could very well win the game for Rajasthan Royals as the opposition was struggling in the chase at the time of the writing.
Chasing the modest total, the Royal Challengers lost the top order inside the first seven overs. Shahbaz Ahmed was present at the crease alongside Wanindu Hasaranga with RCB still needing 55 runs off 30 deliveries. Rajasthan Royals are ahead in the game and it will need a special effort from Shahbaz Ahmed to win the game for his side from here.
