Cricket is an unpredictable game and nobody literally knows what happens the next ball. However, we can expect that there would be plenty of interesting things in store if both teams play high-quality cricket.

There is no doubt that women’s cricket has improved in terms of quality and entertainment quotient. Women are actively taking part in franchise cricket leagues and are making a name for themselves in the modern era.

Meanwhile, the International Cricket Council (ICC) Women’s T20 qualifiers are taking place. The recently-concluded qualifier game between Brazil Women and Canada Women took us all by surprise.

With only 3 runs required in the last over with 5 wickets in hand, one would assume that Canada women would come through with flying colours. Needless to say, the game had a plot twist in the end. In fact, nobody would have predicted the crazy ending.

Brazil women beat Canada women by 1 run

Brazil women stunned the cricket fraternity by dismantling the rest of five wickets in the last over. As a result, they went on to clinch a memorable one-run thriller victory over Canada Women. This match will go down as one of the best thriller fixtures in women’s cricket history.

Batting first, Brazil batswomen were on the receiving end as they kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. They posted 48/7 in a game that was trimmed to 17-overs per side. Roberta Moretti Avery scored 21 runs off 32 deliveries for Brazil. Hiba Shamshad bowled really well for Canadian women. She registered 3/8 in 4 overs.

Chasing 49, Canada lost early wickets and the game was dragged to the last over. When 3 runs were required off the last 6 balls, they missed out on the trick of sealing the deal. Cardoso started the final over with a dot and in the next five balls, Canada lost five wickets while taking just a single in the last ball of the game. Canada lost the game by a run.

Cardoso was adjudged the player of the match award for her sensational over. She took 3/8 in 3 overs. For Canada Women, Mukhwinder Gill top-scored for Canada Women with 19 off 29 balls (2 fours).
