The 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League has been all about the re-emergence of the veteran wicketkeeper batter Dinesh Karthik. The Tamilnadu-batter has reinvented himself as the finisher for the Royal Challengers Bangalore and has taken the mega-league by storm.

Dinesh Karthik extended his purple patch with the bat with another breezy finish to take RCB to a strong total against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The Hyderabad-based franchise is up against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 54th match of the IPL 2022 in the day game on Sunday. With the race to the playoffs heating up with each passing game, it is almost a must-win game for both sides.

The RCB skipper asked the opposition to bowl first after winning the toss but lost their superstar batter, Virat Kohli, on the very first delivery of the game. However, the Reds dealt with the backbreaking blow in style as Faf du Plessis and Rajat Patidar added 105 runs for the 2nd wicket.

The skipper kept holding the one end while the batters on the other end tried to smack the bowlers. But it wasn’t an easy wicket to bat on as the old bowl was sticking in the surface, making the shot-making difficult in the death.

When Glenn Maxwell got out in the 19th over, a score of 180 looked like a distant possibility for the Bangalore-based franchise. However, anything could happen when you have a finisher like Dinesh Karthik present in your ranks.
