As they say, the game of cricket is a great leveler. No one can stay down or at the top for a long period of time. Who would have thought a batter who has the record of the highest-ever runs tally in a single season, a batter who has recorded only three golden ducks in his entire IPL career, would register three golden ducks in a single season? The unthinkable has happened as former India skipper Virat Kohli registered his third golden duck in the ongoing season after getting out off the first ball against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

On Sunday, Royal Challengers Bangalore are up against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 54th match of the IPL 2022. It is a vital game for both sides in their quest to qualify for the playoffs.

RCB’s skipper Faf du Plessis, chose to bat first after winning the toss in the day game. Former skipper Virat Kohli came out to bat alongside the current skipper Faf. However, things didn’t work as per the plan for the Royal Challengers.

Virat Kohli registers third golden duck of the season

The Run-Machine Kohli took the strike on the first delivery of the game, while the left-arm spinner Jagadeesha Suchith took the new ball for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Suchith delivered a harmless ball on the middle and leg, but Kohli flicked it straight to Kane Williamson at short midwicket.

The season turned worse from bad for Virat Kohli as the Indian superstar registered his 3rd golden duck of the season. Notably, he only had three golden ducks in his entire IPL career before this season.

Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bangalore managed to overcome the early loss of Kohli as Faf du Plessis and Rajat Patidar added 105 runs for the 2nd wicket.
