Australian opener David Warner led Delhi Capitals from the front against his former side Sunrisers Hyderabad in a crucial game on Thursday.
Delhi Capitals are currently locking horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 50th game of the IPL 2022 at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai. It is a vital fixture for both sides, as a loss for Delhi Capitals will push them closer to the elimination while Sunrisers Hyderabad are already on a two-game losing run.
Before the game, all eyes were on David Warner, who played against his former side Sunrisers Hyderabad. The Aussie opener is the most successful batter and the skipper of the Orange Army.
However, amid a poor season with the bat, the Hyderabad-based franchise removed Warner from captaincy and even dropped him from the playing 11 last season. They released the left-hander ahead of the IPL 2022, and Delhi Capitals signed him in the auctions.
Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Kane Williamson chose to bowl after winning the toss. David Warner and his new partner Mandeep Singh walked in to open for Delhi Capitals.
