During the ongoing Ranji Trophy final between Mumbai and Madhya Pradesh at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, the RCB chants broke massively. The crowd went berserk while shouting their favourite team’s name during the Ranji Trophy finale.

On Friday, Mumbai and Madhya Pradesh met in the final of the Ranji Trophy 2021-22 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. Mumbai has already gotten their hands on the elite domestic championship 41 times, while Madhya Pradesh are playing their first-ever final since the 1998-99 season.

Both teams have been consistent throughout the tournament and deserved to reach the final at the RCB’s home ground. Madhya Pradesh topped the Elite Group A with two wins and a single draw in three matches to reach the quarterfinal. They then toppled Punjab and Bengal in the Quarterfinals and the semifinals, respectively.

At the same time, Mumbai finished at the top in the Elite Group D with two wins and a single draw after three matches. They registered a record-breaking win over Uttarakhand in the Quarterfinals and then dominated Uttar Pradesh in the Semifinals to book a date with MP in the final.

The match at the RCB’s fort began swiftly as Mumbai won the toss and decided to bat first. The skipper Prithvi Shaw and Yashasvi Jaiswal gave an upper hand to Mumbai by adding 87 runs for the first wicket. However, the MP bowlers managed to bounce back by scalping regular wickets there onwards to reduce Mumbai to 248/5 at the stumps on day one.

The crowd chants RCB’s name during the Ranji Trophy final

While the final game was going on smoothly, a loud chant of Royal Challengers Bangalore’s name could be heard across the venue. The crowd went nuts while chanting the name of their favourite IPL franchise while supporting Rajat Patidar.
