If Kohli moves to the opening slot, it will allow the No.1 ranked ICC T20I batter, Suryakumar Yadav, to operate at one down. It should be the ideal position for him as he will have the opportunity to play maximum balls and impact the game.

The selectors preferred Shivam Dube over Rinku Singh indicates everything. The Indian side are looking to take advantage of the former’s hitting abilities in the middle order. He has improved a lot over the past few years and can be a game-changer for his side.

While Sanju Samson remains a lucrative pick, Rishabh Pant is likely to get the nod for the wicketkeeper role. The latter can bat down the order unlike Sanju, which provides the batting unit the much-needed flexibility.
