T20 World Cup 2022: 3 issues India need to sort out before their game against Pakistan
If not fixed, these areas could hurt India in their battle against Pakistan.
3. Death Bowling
In Jasprit Bumrah’s absence, the biggest issue India need to resolve is their death bowling. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is a new-ball bowler and has been very expensive at the death recently. Harshal Patel hasn’t been at his self-best since his return from injury.
Arshdeep Singh is an option but he has failed to stay consistent so far in his short international career. And, in the end, India have experienced Mohammed Shami who hasn’t played competitive cricket for a while now and may take some more time to get into the rhyme.
However, in the warm-up game against Australia, Harshal Patel bowled a brilliant 19th over, followed by a match-winning 20th over by Mohammed Shami. Bhuvi is likely to take the new ball for India and they have to pick the other two pacers to take care of the death bowling.
