While T20 is considered the batters’ game, bowlers often win you major events. When it comes to multi-nation events, a team with a fierce bowling attack will always have a chance of doing better than the rest of the others. The T20 World Cup 2022 is happening in Australia, hence, the role of the bowlers becomes critical on the pacy and bouncy surfaces of the country.

The pace and bounce usually acts as a double-edged sword. While the batters could use it to score more runs, the bowlers could exploit it to rattle the batters. If the bowler doesn’t know how to use the pace and bounce to his advantage, he is likely to go away for runs. Meanwhile, there are some pacers who are coming to the mega event with some form and have the skill set to exploit the Aussie conditions. On that note, let’s take a look at three bowlers who could become the highest wicket-taker in the T20 World Cup 2022.

    1. Haris Rauf

In Shaheen Afridi’s absence, Haris Rauf has emerged as the leader of Pakistan’s attack. The pacer has been carrying a scintillating form for a while now. In the home T20I series, the right-handed pacer produced a couple of match-winning spells followed by impact bowling in the tri-series in New Zealand.

With the mega-event happening in Australia, the Pakistan speedster has plenty of experience playing in these conditions courtesy of his stint with the Melbourne Stars in the BBL. Haris Rauf has the raw pace to back it up with pace variations and control over his lengths. It would be no surprise if he leads the bowling charts in this edition of the T20 World Cup.
