Shahid Afridi Net Worth, Salary, Endorsements, Cars, and House
Shahid Afridi is one of the greatest cricketers Pakistan has ever produced.
Born on 1st March 1980, Shahid Afridi is a former professional cricketer from Pakistan. He was an all-rounder by trade as he used to bat right-handed and also bowl right-arm leg spin. The legendary all-rounder is arguably the most popular Pakistani cricketer of all time. Known as ‘Boom-Boom’ – Shahid Afridi earned himself a reputation for destroying the bowling attacks from the very first delivery.
In 1996, Shahid Afridi smashed a 37-ball century in an ODI against Sri Lanka and it was his only second game. It remained the fastest one-day century for 17 years before Corey Anderson broke the record in 2014. He also went on to represent Pakistan in Tests but his high-risk game continued in red-ball cricket as well.
However, just after 26 Tests, Shahid Afridi realized that the longer format is not his cup of tea and he announced his retirement from Test cricket in 2006. He returned to Test cricket in 2010 but he reaffirmed that he is not made for the format and announced his retirement for the second time just after one game.
Shahid Afridi’s natural game suited the T20 format the most as he helped Pakistan in reaching the final of the inaugural T20 World Cup and then win the next edition in 2009. The all-rounder retired from ODI cricket after Pakistan’s quarterfinal loss to Australia in the 2015 World Cup. Meanwhile, he played his last T20I game against West Indies in 2018.
After that, Shahid Afridi played in various cricketing leagues across the globe, including PSL, BPL, and Global T20 Canada. After the PSL 2022, the all-rounder announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. In 398 ODIs, Afridi has scored 8064 runs and picked up 395 wickets. Meanwhile, he scored 1416 runs and bagged 98 wickets in 99 T20Is.
