Born on 17th October 1994, Ben Duckett is a professional cricketer from England. He is a left-handed batter by trade who could also double up as a wicketkeeper. Ben Duckett was a part of England’s U-19 squad during the 2012 U-19 World Cup. In the same year, he made his debut for Northamptonshire in the Friends Life T20 2012.
He soon broke into Northamptonshire’s team for one-day and red-ball formats. Duckett came to the limelight during the 2015 county season after scoring over 1000 runs in the season, including four centuries. In the very next season, he amassed 1338 runs, including two centuries and two double-centuries.
The national selectors soon picked him up as Ben Duckett made his Test debut against Bangladesh in October 2016. His ODI debut also came during the same series. Meanwhile, the left-handed batter made his T20I debut against Pakistan in May 2019. However, Ben Duckett failed to grab his opportunities and he was later dropped from the team following a string of poor performances.
After performing at the domestic level for the next couple of years, the left-handed southpaw returned to England’s T20I and Test sides in 2022. He will be eager to make his opportunities count this time around to tighten his grasp on England’s playing XI.
