Born on 3rd June 1998, Sam Curran is a professional cricketer from England. He is a bowling-all-rounder by trade as he bowls left-arm medium-pace and bats left-handed. Cricket runs in his blood as his grandfather was a first-class cricketer for Rhodesia and his father has played international cricket for Zimbabwe. Meanwhile, his elder brother, Tom Curran, is also a professional cricketer.
Touted as a prodigy in his younger days, Sam progressed through Zimbabwe’s U-13 ranks before relocating to England. He then climbed the ranks through Surrey’s age-division cricket before making his first-class debut for Surrey at an age of 17. Soon after, he was picked for the U19 World Cup 2016 and after an injury to Ben Stokes, the all-rounders was fast-tracked to England’s Test side.
Sam made his Test debut at home against Pakistan in June 2018. Only a few days later, he made his ODI debut against Australia. Meanwhile, the cricketer made his T20I debut against New Zealand in November 2019.
