Rajasthan Royals announced themselves as a top-tier team in the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League. Under the captaincy of Shane Warne, they made it all the way to the finals of the competition. Notably, they got the better of Chennai Super Kings to win their maiden IPL title. After that, they had a series of inconsistent results in the competition.

Rajasthan Royals reached their second final in their history after 14 years. The inaugural IPL champions locked horns with Gujarat Titans in the final showdown. Unfortunately, they failed to bring the best out of themselves in crucial junctures of the game. As a result, they ended up getting surrendered at the hands of Hardik Pandya and Co in the IPL 2022 final.

On the other end of the spectrum, Lucknow Super Giants were newly inducted into the cash-rich Indian Premier League in the IPL 2022 edition. In their debut season, they performed pretty well as a team under the leadership of KL Rahul. Notably, they even qualified for the playoffs by finishing third on the league stage points table.

It is worth noting that Lucknow Super Giants have won as many as nine games in the league. They lost the rest of the five games. After making it to the playoffs, they locked horns with the fourth-placed Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Eliminator. However, LSG failed to provide the spark in their strategy and as a result, they ended up getting eliminated from the competition.

Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals and KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants locked horns with each other on two occasions so far in the history of the competition. Both meetings came in the IPL 2022 edition. Rajasthan Royals won both meetings against LSG.

Sanju Samson and Co won the first meeting against Lucknow Super Giants by a close margin of 3 runs. As far as the second meeting is concerned, Rajasthan Royals got the better of Lucknow Super Giants by 24 runs to make it two wins in a row.
