Rajasthan Royals were the runners-up in the fifteenth edition of the Indian Premier League. Under the captaincy of Sanju Samson, Rajasthan Royals were indeed a thrusting force as they braved all challenges that came their way. With collective strength and consistency, they made it all the way to the finals of the cash-rich Indian Premier League.
Needless to say, the same energy was not observed in their approach in the IPL 2022 final as they surrendered at the hands of the Gujarat Titans. Hardik Pandya and Co won the maiden IPL title in their debut season. Rajasthan Royals will be looking forward to making a bid for the second IPL title after missing out on the trophy in the last edition.
On the other side of the coin, Kolkata Knight Riders are the third most successful IPL team with two titles so far in their journey. It is worth noting that the Knight Riders won both titles under the captaincy of Gautam Gambhir. Kolkata Knight Riders won their maiden IPL title by beating Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2012 final.
They once again made it to the finals in the IPL 2014 edition and they defeated Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) to win their second IPL title. Since then, they have had a series of inconsistent results before they eventually made it to their third IPL final in the 2021 edition. Nonetheless, they lost to Chennai Super Kings in the final.
