Home and away format will return in the IPL 2023

The last three seasons of the Indian Premier League were affected by Covid-19. While the 2020 edition of the tournament was held in the UAE, the 2021 edition was shifted to the UAE midway through the season after breaches in the bubble.

IPL 2022 returned to India but it was held across only four venues in Mumbai and Pune under the threat of a possible third wave. However, normalcy will be restored in the IPL 2023 as the home and away format will mark its return and each team will play a total of 18 league matches. The BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has already confirmed the same recently.

“The next season of IPL will go back to the home and away format with all the 10 teams playing their home matches at their designated venues,” said Sourav Ganguly.
